Phoenix program
The phoenix program was a misunderstood program undertaken by the governments of the United States and South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It was quite simple, a set of programs that sought to attack and destroy the Viet Cong. (A Vietnamese belonging to or supporting the National Liberation Front of the nation formerly named South Vietnam. (Vietcong)) The phoenix program main purpose was to neutralize through acazination, kidnapping, and torture the people that supported the viet cong, but this was only a reason why they use the Phoenix Program during the Vietnam War.
Phoenix was misunderstood because it was classified, and the information obtained by the press and others was often anecdotal, unsubstantiated, or false. The Phoenix program was misunderstood because the many civilians were killed since they were mistaken with the viet congs. (During the Vietnam War, the viet congs (charlie) would not show themselves to fight, making it hard for the US army to fight) The Phoenix Program went to the villages of North Vietnam and killed many innocent people because they were mistaken with the viet congs since they were not able to who was there enemie. For example over 6,000 South Vietnamese people were killed (over 1,200 in selective assassinations) and 15,000 wounded. Among the dead were some 90 village chiefs, and 240 hamlet chiefs and officials this deaths were only during the year 1969. Vietnam. Phoenix Program took over 20,000 lives during the Vietnam War, the numbers of deaths during the Phoenix program is still unknown.
The phoenix program was created by the CIA in insignia in 1967. The secret network of the Vietnam People's Army which the U.S. intelligence services called the Viet Cong infrastructure (VCI). This network provided the political direction and control of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam's (NLF) war in the south. The phoenix program was supported by the CIA(Central Intelligence Agency) and by the conceived by the white house. The Phoenix Program was an intelligence operation designed to gather and analyze information on both the operational structure and members of the Viet Cong Infrastructure (VCI), the Communists' secret administrative and political apparatus in South Vietnam.
The phoenix program was created improve intelligence coordination and operations aimed at identifying and dismantling the communist underground during the Vietnam War. At first the phoenix program was comprehensive system of rump legality, kidnapping, torture, and assassination ever designed and run by the United States. The phoenix program purpose was to kill and terrorise the viet cong so they would surrender. They used the terrifying final solution to stop the viet cong, it violated the insignia conditions. It’s purpose was to kill the people that helped the viet cong, the soldiers. the captains, and the troops that helped. Faulty intelligence usually lead to the murder of innocent civilians.
There is very little know about the Phoenix Program and its contents. The information they give us lets us know that the Phoenix Program is very valuable.
